Aiden has accumulated more than 20 years experience developing teams to implement complex contracts, continuous improvement initiatives, and managing complex projects in large organizations. Aiden's background includes a degree in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. Aiden's industry experience includes aerospace. manufacturing, real estate, finance, public sector, and small businesses development. In various roles at the City of Austin for the past 15+ years, Aiden has focused on developing contracts, public policies, and programs that result in lower costs and improved customer service. His goal is to collaboratively solve complex problems and replicate innovative solutions across organizations. Currently, Aiden serves as a Utility Strategist at the City of Austin's electric utility, Austin Energy in the Customer Energy Solutions, Commercial Energy Efficiency Services team. In this role, Aiden helps coordinate complex projects and initiates including federal grants, large contracts, and acts as a catalyst for transition to a low-carbon future within the utility.In 2020, Aiden served at the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Manager at the City of Austin (AUS) Bergstrom International Airport. Aiden was part of the team planning the airport's more than $4B expansion prior to and during the pandemic. In 2014, Aiden was the Program Manager for the Strategic Initiatives Division at Austin Resource Recovery, a City of Austin enterprise department. Aiden leads a team of nine professionals dedicated to making Austin a better place to live and work. Current responsibilities include business outreach, public speaking, contract management, $2M+ budget, HR, and long-term planning. Aiden's team is responsible for implementing the City’s Universal Recycling Ordinance (URO) and helping Austin's businesses save money through Zero Waste initiatives. In the community, Aiden participates in several non-profits to provide safe and effective learning opportunities for children and help local businesses develop sustainable capabilities.Aiden lives in Austin with his wife Dr. Caroline, son J.W. Aiden is proud of being green, while saving green. He and his wife designed and built an Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) 5-Star Rated and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certified "Gold" home in the Mueller Neighborhood. Each year, his home's rooftop solar array produces more electricity than his family uses and returns energy back to the grid.
