LEGAL SECRETARY:- Working directly to with one of the solicitors in the firm across a broad range of area's litigation, probate, conveyancing and some commercial work. My main task involves assisting the solicitor in his various files, through typing his letters on the case management system ("expd8") and liaising with the relevant client. I also work front of house and greet clients on entry, dealing with queries and assigning potential clients to the relevant solicitors.BOOK KEEPING:- I also worked in the accounts department, helping with the day-to-day running of the Accounts and using the computerised accounts package ("BCL"). My work included: Writing cheques; approving client’s cash accounts with Solicitors; Organising transferring of funds; posting lodgements and cheques to both accounts; updating ledger cards; bank reconciliation; posting and payment of creditors invoices; dealing with cheque requisitions and attending the local bank.
