About Aileen Friedman

AILEEN FRIEDMAN, who is a specialist in oral skills, develops and teaches all the programs offered by FRESHSPEECH. Aileen has taught ESL to students of all proficiencies and for 6 years was the pronunciation and oral skills specialist in the ESL department at Norwalk Community College in Norwalk, Connecticut. She has seen the positive impact that personalized pronunciation instruction can have—not only on a student’s speech but, more importantly, on his or her confidence.Aileen received a master’s degree from San Francisco State University with a specialty in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and earned the Distinguished Achievement Award for Academic Excellence. Aileen believes that all non-native English speakers, no matter what their age, can learn to speak English clearly and effectively. She uses innovative methods for teaching pronunciation, making use of musical instruments, physical movement, and fun. Her students can expect to meet their goals.
