My current projects include narrative and game design for games including Tectonicus: On the Edge of War, and developing storylines for VR, manuscripts, and gaming. Prior to this I spent six years researching and developing storylines for domestic and international broadcast films, web series and theatrical release, and giving editorial guidance at Tangled Bank Studios. I also developed, wrote and narrated short films, and produced interactive learning experiences for workplace, classroom and hospital settings, creating clarity in complex topics and ensuring factual accuracy.Before working in narrative design, I spent over a decade as a scientist, working with high-profile viruses including Ebola, Marburg, Lassa, and influenza. I carried out research studies in Sierra Leone and in Biosafety Level 4 laboratories, including the development of new biodefense assays, high-throughput screenings, and on-the-ground support during the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa. I've also carried out wildlife conservation surveys for the US Army, and phylogenetic studies in botany.
