As Director of Impact for People + Planet at Steelcase, I am part of a team catalyzing collective action by reimagining systems and designing strategies that center the wellbeing of people and the planet. We weave together research, strategy and engagement in partnership with stakeholders to drive leadership, make progress, and take collective action on our people + planet aspirations and commitments.

As global manager of ESG at Steelcase, I am part of a small team building an integrated practice to reimagine systems while driving and connecting strategy, goals and actions across environmental, social and governance pillars within the organization. By connecting, translating, simplifying, building and enabling work across these pillars, the team is helping shape a future that designs better futures for the wellbeing of people and the planet.

As a member of the WorkSpace Futures group at Steelcase, I am part of a team that dives into deeply understanding the ways that people live, work, and learn. By asking big questions and exploring complex answers, the team helps Steelcase envision possibilities and frame real-world choices for the present and future of living, working, and learning. For the last 10 years, I have been focused on exploring these complex answers within the field of education and educational environments and the changing world of work.Skills and responsibilities include systems and design thinking, planning and executing mixed methods research projects from conception to communication with stakeholders, designing interactive workshops, collaborating and co-creating with multidisciplinary team members, presenting and speaking with clients about research and translating research insights into action.

Generate new knowledge specific to the educational environments - in the now, near and far time frames. Integrate this knowledge into products, applications and services. Share in multiple platforms for multiple audiences at multiple levels of depth.

-Compile and analyze quantitative and qualitative data as it relates to technology and public educational environments-Create research proposals for further study -Create metrics to measure student achievement in classroom as function of built environment

A cross-cultural study with 5 different cultural groups exploring the intersection of home, health, design and community.

- Work & Collaborate with Professor and co-TA's on curriculum and assignments- Introduce & Lecture on basic building blocks within Design Discipline.-Run, Facilitate & Work with students in Studio Lab to help them gain a better understanding of course material and concepts through course assignments -Evaluate & Grade students assignments and progress within class

I, along with 31 other people, adventured across the United States for 2.5 months, biking from the East Coast to the West Coast and partnering with affordable housing organizations along the way.I was part of a 4-person leadership team, collaborating with organizational director and co-leaders to effectively plan and safely execute cross-country trip for a large group of young adults. Along the way, we navigated the day to day reality of biking, from practicing agility when confronted with the unexpected to ensuring healthy group dynamics as we lived and learned with one another 24/7 while pushing ourselves to the physical, mental and emotional limits.Prior to the trip, I fundraised over $4,000 and while on the road, our group collectively evaluated and awarded over $20,000 worth of grants to affordable housing organizations across the US.

-Involvement in all design phases, Programming thru Construction Admin.-Develop space plans, details + FF+E for multiple projects simultaneously-Collaborate with team to produce + present best design solution -Meet with clients at all phases of design to ensure best solution -Prepare and deliver professional presentations to clients-Accompany PM’s for on-site visits, field measurements & meetings-Attend trade shows/presentations to stay current with LEED trend/product

-Reconfigure + redesign current store layouts in CAD -Read and correct redlined drawings -Meet with superiors to formulate best solution for specific space

-Educate & engage architects/designers on sustainability of product-Demonstrate how to integrate Tricycle’s goal of reducing sample waste -Contact & set up appointments with larger architectural firms in the area

-Draft space plans and elevations, via hand and computer rendering-Select and order FF&E for 3-4 ongoing projects at one time-Prepare professional PowerPoint’s for annual NARI conference-Convene with designer/client to discuss and work towards best solution -Accompany designer on site visits, field measurements & client meetings

-Create and present multiple space plan solutions on CAD for client-Select and present several FF&E options for client-Accompany designers on house calls to clients-Organize and update product/fabric catalogs on a weekly basis
