Ailsa paints from her studio on the Solway Coast in Dumfries and Galloway she has exhibited at both the Paisley Art Institute and the Royal Glasgow Institute. In 2017 she was listed as one of 25 top UK influential art brands to watch by a panel of over 200 retailers and business people by Licensing Biz. In 2018 her RSPB Year Planner was voted Best Charity Calendar in the UK Calendar Awards. In 2020 her Ravensburger jigsaw was voted one of 9 best jigsaws to complete during lock down. Today she works with charities like the RSPB and Oxfam to help them promote their work through her art. You will also find her paintings on a growing collection of gifts which are available through her website and in stores across the UK and abroad.Her work is a quirky and light hearted interpretation of life in rural Dumfries and Galloway. It is based on the interaction of landscape, animals, birds and people that surround her. She is interested in the use of these core influences, which merge with her imagination, to express the idea that sometimes the simplest things in life are the best!When she has free time you will find her outdoors where she loves to watch wildlife and tramp the beaches and coasts. She loves to climb hills with her collie dog and go on long bike rides to quiet places.
