I am currently working as a freelance artist. I work with different mediums and in a variety of art styles with a particular focus on illustration, digital collage and acrylic. I am consistently developing my art style and my artwork has featured in art fairs as well as in a zine magazine.

My PGCE practical training has been at an all-boys grammar school located in Sutton Coldfield called Bishop Vesey's Grammar School. During this placement I developed the necessary skills required to adapt my lessons to accommodate for high attaining students as well adapting my lessons to support lower attaining and SEN students. I have accomplished this through developing my differentiation techniques such as chunking, scaffolding and an awareness of expert blindness. I have based my pedagogy on numerous researchers and practitioners such as Gian Franco Conti, Tom Sherrington and Rachel Hawks. To ensure smooth progression which builds upon prior knowledge I use retrieval practice strategies to build student schema which allows them to build upon their prior knowledge and guarantees that students will cement their knowledge of the language long term. I allocate a period during every lesson to focus on retrieval practice. As well as working with the classes that have been assigned to me, I also shared a year 8 tutor group and supported year 10 and 13 students with their French oral exam practice on a weekly basis. Over the course of this year, I have developed my behaviour management skills and believe that being fair, but firm nurtures students learning as well as rewarding high quality work and consistent participation in the classroom environment. I believe strong school and faculty policies should be consistently followed by all staff. In regard to assessing students’ learning I regularly conduct vocabulary tests to monitor students’ progress and identify errors in their learning in order to correct them. Alongside this I provide error correction tasks for students to complete and conduct quick-fire questioning throughout the course of lessons.

I have run two events over the course of 2019. I co-produced a spiritual themed mental well-being event with an events team for ‘Mind’ charity on the 12th of April where I managed a small team of volunteers, stalls and hired a guest speaker who also conducted a meditation session. I recently launched After Edinburgh, a double bill evening of Fringe theatre on the 5th of September at the Hare and Hounds in King’s Heath which featured projection mapping theatre and a stand-up comedy show.

I worked as an English teacher assistant In an Italian secondary school taking year 7 to year 9 classes. I taught classes on my own with supervision and was also in charge of preparing classes based on topics and themes. I used interactive games, power points, videos and physical activites to incorporate all different types of learning into my classes.

I gave online English lessons to secondary school foreign french students to help prepare them for their upcoming exams.

I helped to teach students from the ages of 3 to 10 Spanish and Italian across preschools and primary schools using. I also taught languages in small after school clubs using interactive games an an effective teaching method.
