With a proven track record of academic & professional success, I bring a wealth of experience in the charity sector and a personal passion to challenge mental health stigma across diverse communities, and intersectional identity groups. I possess extensive experience in Group Facilitation, Co-Production, Mental Health Policy Research, Diverse Development of Expert by Experience engagement. And I am highly skilled in Thematic Analysis, Inclusive leadership, Interviewing, Mentoring, and Project Management. Currently, as a Senior Project Officer at Rethink Mental Illness, I am responsible for the project management, delivery and innovation of multiple proof-of-concept programmes. The Lived Experience Programmes are commissioned by stakeholders such as the NHS - we aim to influence mental health system change, improve outcomes and create political reform to better the lives of people affected by severe mental illness I have a 1st Class Honours BSc Social Sciences degree from Royal Holloway and I won a top-in-cohort prize for my dissertation which achieved 92%. This was a 9,000 word secondary research project that I produced on mental health service access in British South Asian Communities:• A systematic review using Braun and Clarke’s 6 Steps of Thematic Analysis, titled: “Honour, Shame, Izzat and the Meanings that British South Asian Communities Assign to Accessing Mental Health Services”I’ve also won an Outstanding Voluntary Work Award for successful efforts as an Impact Project Coordinator. Through collaborating across 4 key Policy and Practice departments at Rethink, I’ve efficiently developed my skills and progressed after less than 11 months in the Policy Team - which has enhanced my expertise to include the below👇1.
