About Aiman Javed
I live and breathe stories.5+ years of experience providing award-winning content development, project management and communications services to non-profits, think tanks and magazines. At Chayn, a global non-profit supporting survivors of abuse, I crafted narratives with and for a marginalized group. I led several projects here, including a coercive control guide with 13k+ views and a course on image-based abuse with 200+ sign-ups. Most significantly, I led production on the Less than 2% podcast, downloaded 9k+ times and winner of five Lovie Awards (2022), competing against the likes of Al Jazeera. Previously, I was the editor of a local magazine in Pakistan, Youlin Magazine, where I curated 500+ articles and managed 50 freelance writers. We published stories about art, film, books, travel, food, literature and festivals. Between 2019 and 2021, I was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where I graduated with an MA in Journalism. As a journalist, I enjoy reporting on gender, communities, culture, and food. In 2021, I won the Don Romero Prize for my reporting. I've been published in the Columbia Missourian, Vox Magazine, Nieman Storyboard, StarChefs Rising Stars Magazine and Youlin Magazine. I hold a BA in English from LUMS, Pakistan.
