Duties include patient triage, either by telephone or in-person; Prepare charts and exam rooms for each clinic day; Perform EKG testing when needed or requested by the physician; Perform capillary puncture for prothrombin testing in-office; Receive and document prothrombin results given over the telephone or via fax machine and submit to nurse practitioners to be dosed; Communicate with patients regarding medical questions, testing results, appointment information; Schedule patient in-office appointments or outside referral appointments.

Duties included providing age-appropriate education and basic living skills; supply age-appropriate nutrition in accordance to Kentucky state law; maintain a safe and clean environment for all children within the center; maintain good communication with all parents of the children enrolled in the center and report any incidents, behavior issues, and/or progress in the child’s development; Report any suspected or known child abuse or neglect to proper authorities in accordance to Kentucky state law; Maintain up-to-date education and training requirements in accordance to Kentucky state law.

Duties include obtaining adult and pediatric patient specimens for laboratory testing; identifying patient via at least two identifiers and labeling all patient specimen containers with name and date of birth; proper hand hygiene practices; sterile phlebotomy practices via venipuncture or capillary methods; intramuscular, intradermal and subcutaneous injections; point-of-care flu, strep, mono, iFOB, and pregnancy tests; lab control testing, logging and shut down of all laboratory equipment; Validation of Norton Healthcare employees’ skills and knowledge; Obtaining patient medical history and current medications; Scheduling and pre-certifying diagnostic imaging for patients; Scheduling patient appointments with physicians and specialties within and outside the Norton Healthcare system; Reporting patient safety risks into the PSRS system; Attending quarterly Team Safety Leader meetings; Leading safety huddles, as assigned, prior to each clinic day.
