About Aimee Close

Having spent the last decade working as a leadership and strategic planning consultant for an international Jewish organization, and having previously served in synagogues, JCCs, and a Jewish school, I have made a career serving the Jewish community.I have been described as someone who quickly connects with people and puts them at ease, whether I am coaching them as part of a strategic planning process, facilitating a board training workshop, or just helping them think about ways to solve a problem.I love working collaboratively with diverse groups of people to imagine what the future could look like, and then helping them figure out how to get there.I am very adept at noticing patterns and trends, often long before others notice them. This has served me well, especially in my work with congregations that are trying to change and adapt.As someone trained in design thinking, I love to play with programs, services, and experiences that are not working as well as they could be, and thinking about how to redesign them to work better.Much of my work in recent years has revolved around challenging congregations and their clergy and lay leaders to be more strategic, more inclusive, and more innovative, so that they can better meet the diverse needs of their communities. More recently, I have also been involved in helping build the capacity of congregations to be more diverse and inclusive, and to expand their social justice efforts.
