The learning curve when moving into a new school leadership position is steep! I know. I’ve been there. I serve school leaders who are "in the arena." Because our world needs brave and courageous leaders "in the arena," problem-solving and engaging with the complexities of today.WHO I WORK WITHI work with three types of clients:* Heads of School in their first Headship* School leaders in a new leadership role* Teachers in a new teacher-leader roleSchool leaders seek me out to help them with:* Overwhelm - stress and anxiety due to too many responsibilities, and feeling alone to create change* Time management - not enough time to do the most important work (children)* Frustration - frustrated about the slow pace of change* Boundaries - caring too much without setting appropriate boundaries* Relationships - navigating a new culture, Board and team* Faith in the system - frustration about being trapped in a bigger system that feels broken* Redefining purpose - help rebounding, rebooting or reinventingWith my help they find their way back to more clarity, energy, joy and passion, and are able to stay “in the arena" and thrive.MY BACKGROUNDI’m an accidental educator. After majoring in biology, my path led me to teaching environmental education in an independent school where I created a first-of-its-kind education program. From there and over the last 20 years, in several innovative schools, I have held leadership positions including Head of School, Director of Teaching & Learning and Director of Admission & Communication. WHAT SETS ME APART FROM OTHER COACHES* I’ve worked my way up in independent school education. * I’ve stood “in the arena” many times. In fact, in all my career I’ve always “dared greatly” by taking risks to create something new, lead something new, or reimagine what’s possible for the future of schools and learning.* In my first teaching job, I created a child-run farm and garden program from the ground up.My clients say I’m observant, realistic and to-the-point. I create simplicity, efficiency and space for reflection and growth.PERSONAL NOTEWhen I’m not coaching you might find me biking the Cape Cod Rail Trails, walking on the beach, hiking, growing food in our community garden plot, exploring new food markets and restaurants, reading, baking or spending time with my family.("In The Arena" concept taken from Theodore Roosevelt's 1910 speech, “Citizenship in a Republic.")LET'S TALKEmail me: hello@aimeegiles.comVisit my website: www.aimeegiles.com
