Research Officer working with Independent Neurorehabilitation Providers Alliance.

I am currently conducting research into emotional processing deficits and delay discounting in relation to dysregulated behaviours, with a particular focus on emotional eating. When individuals experience high levels of distress and negative emotions they may engage in dysregulated behaviours as a way of alleviating those sensations. The aim of the research is to investigate if individuals who are higher in impulsivity are more inclined to engage in such behaviours to reduce their distress.

I work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to aid the rehabilitation of individuals who have an acquired brain injury. I help to assist individuals in their day to day life with personal care, getting out in the community and continuing to engage in activities they enjoy.

Working within an older adults mental health day hospital assisting in conducting both psychometric and neuro-psychological assessments. I also carried out CBT and schema therapy with both individuals and in a group setting.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team to help with the rehabilitation of a young adult who had suffered a traumatic brain injury. Assisted the individual apply to college, finding techniques to help them with medication and financial management and using strategies to improve memory and planning.
