BiographyDiscovering her passion at a young age, Aimee began her dancing in Cary, IL at the Cary-Grove Performing Arts Center. While in High School, she performed in several musical productions, employing a wide-variety skill-set, including Tap, Jazz, and Ballet. From there she went on to perform with the Xtreme Dance Force Jazz Division of Naperville, IL and then the Schaumburg Dance Ensemble in Schaumburg IL. Aimee has recently graduated the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts is Modern Dance. While at Utah she performed with the Performing Dance Company, Panorama with the Martha Graham Dance Company and various other student productions.In addition to performing, Aimee also loves to teach dance; an enthusiasm that began while teaching at the Cary-Grove Performing Arts Centre. Believing in the spirit of strengthening the next generation of dancers, Aimee has taught ballet, jazz and tap to students of all ages with hopes of continuing to teach in the future. While at the U of U, she continued her love of teaching at community centers and through both university outreach and on campus programs. Excited to see what the future holds, Aimee is egger to see what lies ahead of her.Artist StatementDance, music, media and film, and art have all played many roles in my life as an artist. With dance as my main interest, I love seeing the connection between five forms. I plan to always continue my love and passion for dance and these other art forms. At this moment in time collaborating with the other arts and involving dance in my local community through teaching and performance is how I hope dance will be part of my life/career in the future. By involving other art forms in my work and sharing this passion with the community I hope to grow as a person and an artist.
