"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."​ - Winston ChurchillThe d3h Foundation is an employee driven charity that was created to help families in our communities that have found themselves in financial distress due to unforeseen circumstances.d3h Hotels is not a business focused on getting, we believe in giving. This is what inspired the inception (2012) of our own charity whose mandate is "Families Helping Families".In 2014, d3h Foundation raised over $50,000 to assist with the purchase a duplex for living accommodations, with the hopes of a future home of a Women & Children Retreat in the Philippines.Current Initiatives:Christmas, the staff of d3h Hotels sent boxes of gifts to orphan children in the Philippines. Over 120 children received boxes of gifts who live in the squatter villages. For many of these children, having even the barest of necessities is not always available to them.Each summer, d3h head office (Saskatoon) hosts its annual garage sale and BBQ. All proceeds go to the d3h Foundation. Items sold at the garage sale were donated by staff. All d3h properties currently sell d3h Charity Animals. These stuffed animals are sold for $10 and $5 is donated to the d3h Foundation. In the last 3 years, d3h has sold various animals including a white bear, panda bear, hippo and is currently selling monkeys. Stay tuned for the upcoming animal in late 2015, the Canadian Moose. In 2014/15, approximately 1,650 animals were sold for a total of $8,250 monies raised.
