Currently in Year 13 studying Economics, Business and English Literature at A levels. During my time at Bournside Sixth Form I have learnt how to lead and work with a team for Young Enterprise, improving my problem solving skills, and giving me confidence to reach out to more people in the business industry. At Boston Tea Party, my most favourite factor I gained from working here was customer service. I have grown to love speaking to customers, helping my confidence grow as I helped retain customers by simply thinking from the customers point of view; by learning that its just the simple things; remembering their drinks or where they usually sit, I have acknowledged that seeing customers be happy makes me more motivated to work, and it's a skill that I've seen dramatically change, thanks to BTP.From October 2024, Bournside have partnered with Lions at Large, an official charity for the NHS where we are helping to raise money for a new oncology unit in Cheltenham. I have taken my skills further by organising a fundraising music concert where we raised over £700 in one night, which I enjoyed planning and learning about the difficulties of organising and managing such events, and how to uniquely approach them.As part of work experience at Warner Music in London, I learnt about how the marketing team worked together astoundingly as they spoke to me about what marketing included, even teaching me how to research and analyse data on musical artists and if they need to modify their strategy. I also had a chance to see how it was to work at Aviva in Bristol, I was given the opportunity to speak to auditors and accountants who helped introduce me to excel, allowing me to improve my understanding of what it’s like in an office setting and what each role entails.To further improve my skills, I applied and was able to win majority of votes for house captain for my house at Bournside by answering questions- with the aim that I wanted to give back to my school as it had done so much for me.From pushing myself out there, I have been able to present to over 1000 people during remembrance day about our history, and getting involved with fundraising has really improved my organisation and confidence, as I continue to face more challenges within the business world.
