Through my relationships with the growers, the most ardent stewards of the land; we can deliver a consistent and reliable product season after season.

Company Description: Since 1956, Brokaw Nursery has specialized in the production of citrus and avocado nursery stock. Brokaw is an industry leader in the innovation of new fruit varieties and clonal avocado rootstocks, with an international presence. Responsibilities: Cross functional in many roles, sales management, grower relations, assessing functionality of business, identifying surplus and slack in production, solving problems, efficiency development, and inventory management. Managing sales and service for all of California avocado growers. As the premier avocado nursery in the world it is my sole responsibility to serve and build relationships with the growers. Accomplishments: Successfully streamlined production in a new hot house facility, tracked production surplus and slack, audited compliance with OSHA & IIPP and made necessary adjustments, created scheduling and logistics process for transporting globally, centralized purchasing and maintained it ongoing additionally introduced inventory and supply management.

Company Description: A subsidiary of Dow Chemical Company has a research field station located in Fresno where field trials of new and changed products are tried on such crops as alfalfa, corn, established nut and fruit crops, and annual row crops. Responsibilities: Data sampling & evaluation, laboratory trials, laboratory reports, data entry, assisted in all day-to-day activities in fieldwork and research.Accomplishments: Successfully completed field trials and data collection in annual row crops and established fruit and nut crops during the 2010 summer season.

Company Description: The California Apple Commission was created to administer the state marketing order program for California apples. This program operates under state enabling legislature and the California Marketing Act of 1937. Under a Strategic Action Plan the Commission addresses several of the challenges that the fresh apple industry is facing.Responsibilities: Lead grant writer, Strategic Action Planning Committee, pest & disease research, market access, research & development, industry website, industry database development for all exports, logo development/graphic design, apple education and nutrition, training, workshop presentations, monthly newsletter, assisted in the day-to-day activities to maintain a functioning Commission. The California Apple Commission hosted/co-directed activities for all boards at different times over two years served. Performed the same functions to those committees as well including the California Blueberry Commission, California Kiwifruit Commission and the California Olive Committee.Accomplishments: • Wrote a CDFA Specialty Crop Block Grant that was awarded to the California Apple Commission for Starch Iodine objective testing methods for Granny Smith apples. Final award was in the amount of $80,000.• Created a database that comprehensively records apple production, exports and destination. This software is now being exclusively used to record California Apple production and assessments throughout the state.
