Aimee Smith has spent 25 years as a RN certified in Med-Surg within the hospital settings of UC Health System. She graduated from The University of Northern Colorado in 1995 and has focused her professional skills in the areas of:• Education & Training• Critical Care Nursing• Patient Advocacy• IV Therapy and many moreSince working with a sick population in the hospital setting for so many years and seeing the dismal results of “treat the symptom protocol” from traditional doctors, she’s passionate about providing education, guidance and teaching to help patients understand the root cause approach to healthcare. The best way to accomplish this is help people explore the benefits of living a holistic lifestyle and the significant impact that can have on disease prevention. She believes that the “band aid” approach to healthcare is making our population sicker and creating a rise in chronic disease. After her personal long-term struggles with multiple health issues like food allergies, gluten intolerance, IBD and SIBO, her goal has been to combine her professional knowledge with her continuing education in the areas of integrative and functional medicine. She has spent years exploring many areas of functional heath and learning from some of the top integrative practitioners in the industry. She is continuing her education by pursuing certifications in functional nutrition and other areas of integrative healthcare.
