Experienced media and entertainment lawyer specialised in IP (with a focus on copyright), content production, media and advertising. After obtaining my Master's degree in Information law at the University of Amsterdam, I started my career as a litigator at an Amsterdam-based boutique law firm, where I focused on copyright, trademark and defamation disputes, and advised clients on various IP and media related matters.After 3 years, I switched to an in-house counsel role at VICE Media (my favourite client at the law firm!), which could use a media lawyer to amongst others help set up and launch its VICE TV channel in The Netherlands and Belgium. VICE is an international award-winning media company that is engaged in amongst others news, film production, media distribution and advertising and has its own creative agency called VIRTUE. At VICE Media, I've seen and done everything and gained a lot of experience as a media and entertainment lawyer. From negotiating and drafting all sorts of production and commercial agreements; advising the (international) news and other production teams on rights and clearances, defamation and advertising laws and regulations; dealing with claims; and advising the boards on various general legal and corporate matters; to managing and supervising an international team of amazingly talented lawyers across the globe.I'm also part of the works council (ondernemingsraad). Next to my job at VICE, I'm part of the Advertising Code Committee in which I represent the Media. The Advertising Code Committee is set up by the Dutch Advertising Authority and handles complaints relating to advertisements targeted at a Dutch audience.In my free time I love to climb, camp, draw, cook & bake.
