I attended two seasons of London Fashion Week and a number of product launches, coordinating press and blogger interviews. An annual competition allowing a group of 5 students to become the student arm of the agency for the academic year, giving them the opportunity to be mentored by professional practitioners while working with a diverse range of real clients on real campaigns.The Academy’s first client was Challenge66. Andy McMenemy, the son of a former soldier, successfully broke the Guinness World Record for running 66 consecutive ultra-marathons (31.9 miles) without any rest days. Andy was running on behalf of ABF The Soldiers Charity. We drove the media relations campaign handling the day-to-day press office before the event including a radio day at BBC Leeds, during the 66 marathons and the weeks after the event.Results:• 280 media hits across the 66 day campaign including Sky News, ITN News, The Daily Mail, The Daily Mirror, The Guardian, BBC News• Audience reach of over 20 million• £80,000 raised for the charity• We utilized Twitter and Facebook to drive awareness and donations - celebrities including Lorraine Kelly, Kelly Holmes, Coleen Rooney and Amir Khan showed their support for Andy through their personal Twitter profiles.Other Clients included the Leeds Corn Exchange & The Navy, Army and Airforce Institute (NAAFI)

I assisted with a high profile media and stakeholder event, helping to secure a number of regional interviews and a live interview on BBC Business News, managed employee benefits and sponsorships, led two internal fundraising events in support of Unilever’s partnership with The World Food Programme and worked with brand teams to co-ordinate internal brand launches including Magnum Gold, Dove For Men and Persil Naturals. I was also a member of the social committee and on the editorial team for the company’s employee magazine, starting as a cub reporter before chief editing two editions.
