I joined Engaging Education, a creative agency specialising in school and learning based projects, as a motion and graphic designer in 2022. While I work closely with both the design and media teams, I am the lead motion designer and my responsibilities include creating:- Longer animated videos (including explainers)- Short form motion graphics for social media and websites- Design assets and illustrations for use in animation and storyboardsIn addition to the above, I also collaborate with other team members on branding projects, liaise with clients as well as spend time expanding my existing design skill-set through online courses and self-development.

I began freelancing in illustration and animation under the name Aimee Sumo in 2019, alongside working in full-time jobs. My style is characterised by playful forms, bold colours and expressive line-work/texture. Notable projects include:- Making a 5 minute long hand-drawn animation for The School of Life titled ‘The Roles We Play in Love’- Making a short hand-drawn animation for Cambridge University’s Creative Encounters Festival- Creating a limited edition risograph print in response to PhD research for Pint of Science FestivalAs well as taking on creative commissions, I’m currently working on building an illustrated print and product base to take to art fairs and sell online.

I joined Freeze as their lead graphic designer in 2020 and while I work closely with the marketing team, I manage and coordinate our design based tasks. These include:- App and web UX/UI design- Website construction and maintenance (using Editor X)- Motion graphics and video editing- Creative content following brand guidelines- Document, presentation and pitch designDuring my time at Freeze I’ve delivered on a number of large scale design projects including:- A complete company re-brand (including logo design)- Full app redesign and introduction of new features- Website redesign for both Freeze and their partner website- Producing quality content for their Virtual Finance Festival As Freeze is a start-up, I’ve also found myself copy writing, helping with social media marketing and dipping my toes into the world of SEO.

While working with the BHF it was my role to generate more income for the charity by listing specialist, antique and expensive items online. My daily tasks included photography, photo editing, item research and copywriting. During my time there, my listings raised over £250,000 for the charity.
