I am very enthusiastic and dedicated teacher that has over 13 years of experience. I am familiar with the Common Core State Standards (US) and have experience teaching the Cambridge Primary curriculum while abroad in China. For the past two years, I have taught students remotely and am well versed in many digital platforms and tools. My experiences have shaped me into a very flexible teacher. By moving to China and acclimating to a new culture, I have learned how to tailor my delivery for a variety of cultures and abilities. I have experience in writing and developing curriculum for native English speakers and for English learners. While I lived and taught in China I had to create and modify assessment pieces to suit the English level and ability of students in my classroom and in the tutor center where I was Head Teacher. I also created full instructional sequences that included best practices and wrote engaging grade level texts with a variety of purposes based on the needs of the customers. As a teacher I would not only coach students to achieve academic success, I would also coach and mentor teachers as a team leader of a grade level or subject. I was the science and math chair throughout my career and secretary of the School Advisory Committee (a site level board of stakeholders). In the current phases of my career, I have developed curriculum that is used in a nationwide platform.I am highly qualified teacher and was recognized by the State of Florida as a “Best and Brightest” teacher. I have my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education for grades Kindergarten to sixth grade with endorsements in Gifted Education, English Speakers of Other Languages, and Reading. I hold teaching certificates from the states of Florida, West Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Additionally, I have experience teaching Kindergarten to fifth grade. I was the teacher sponsor of my school’s STEM bowl team and Mu Alpha Theta Team.
