This later lead to the goal for strictly protected areas being cemented in the political agreement for the Danish Marine Spatial Plan. • Leading our work on establishing an Ocean Nature Fond (Havnaturfond) that would allocate funding to marine research and restoration within and outside offshore wind parks. This was done together with Green Power Denmark and Tænketanken Hav. • Leading our work on affecting the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive in Denmark, e.g. by being a member of the EU technical expert group TG Seabed and working for establishing ambitious threshold values for seabed integrity whilst a member. • Collecting knowledge about and working for including nature inclusive design in all Danish offshore wind parks• Leading work on marine Natura 2000-areas and produced an overview of their status in 2020.• Giving presentations at conferences and meetings, as well as interviews for TV, news papers and other types of media.
Marine Scientist And Advocate
I was hired to work as Marine Scientist and Advocate in a 2 year-project with a focus on transboundary marine protected areas in the Baltic Sea. In September 2018 we carried out an 20 day at-sea research expedition in the Quark area. I was in charge of planning the expedition, the areas we visited and analyzing the collected data. Besides working with research I also work with advocating for policy changes in the Baltic Sea, promoting a sustainable usage of the sea and its resources, helping to safeguard the Baltic Sea for future generations.
Marine Biologist
I worked as project manager in a 3 year-project that was focused on surveying shallow, coastal marine bays in the county. I was in charge of carrying out field work and analyzing the collected data. I became very familiar with the vascular plants and Charophytes of the northern Bothnian Bay, as well as driving a boat, snorkeling and coordinating the field work. I was also involved in hiring a research assistant for the project. Besides working within the project I helped identify valuable marine areas to protect in the county and to start and finish the process of designating MPAs. I participated in the designation of the county's first marine protected area (natur reservat).

Main work assignments consisted of filming underwater from a boat, surveying endangered plant species and taking samples of them, processing samples and identifying them in the laboratory, keeping track of the field work, acting as a diving assistant as well as analysing our underwater videos and handling the storage of the video data, the endangered plant species data and the dive lines data. Driving boats and handling them, as well as navigation and gear maintenance were also part of my job description. In addition I participated in communicating about different aspects of the protection of aquatic resources via social media.
