Starting from about 20 staff to a peak of about 200 staff and subbies, my role changed over the years from mainly Purchase Ledger to mainly Payroll, but still over-seeing the Purchase Ledger accounts and closely assisting the Finance Manager and Directors.Payroll - Sole responsibility for weekly payroll for 100+ staff, sub-contractors and agency workers, including all associated expenses, deductions, nominal ledger reconcilliations, costings reports and HR updates. Purchase Ledger - Create and manage payment schedules, reconcile supplier statements, investigate anomilies and assist other staff where needed to meet deadlines. Create and manage supplier accounts. Process all agency and ad-hoc invoices, credit card statements and petty cash. Investigate aged debts and Purchase Orders. Bank - Reconcile weekly bank statements and associated nominal ledger accounts, investigate anomolies and post journals.Sales Ledger - Reconcile client accounts and nominal ledgers, assist where needed in chasing payments or agree contra payments, update outstanding retention balances.
