Working on the design, commissioning and operation of a real-time Thomson scattering diagnostic at W7-X with the goal of real-time density profile control. This system is expected to be used in upcoming experimental campaigns at W7-X. Currently based at the Max Planck Institute of Plasma Physics through December of 2025.

Conducted research into the diffusion mechanisms associated with multi-ion species plasma shocks. These shocks were created in a laboratory environment by using a linear plasma-armature accelerator to collide high-Mach number plasma jets. Interferometry, emission spectroscopy, and high speed photography were employed to characterize the resulting shock structure. The fundamental physics learned from this project has relevance to both astrophysical and high energy density plasmas. Successfully defended research on November 21st, 2023, with the results published in the dissertation titled "Experimental Characterization of Diffusive Phenomena in Multi-Ion-Species Plasma Shocks Formed During Railgun-Driven Plasma Jet Collision Events" on February 23rd, 2024.

Served as a lab instructor for Virginia Tech's Aerospace and Ocean Engineering (AOE) department. Duties included proctoring lab sessions for undergraduate AOE courses, and grading student submitted lab reports.

Supported the Compact Muon Solenoid Experiment located at the Large Hadron Collider in Meyrin, Switzerland. Performed analysis of hardware data from the CMS Hadron Calorimeter to ensure experiment operation and functionality. Also assembled and tested prototype electronic boards in preparation for the CMS front end electronics upgrades in December of 2018.

Conducted research on plastic scintillators for the phase 2 upgrade to the CMS Hadron Calorimeter. Simulated the effect of radiation on scintillators.Extensive use of Python, C++, and Geant4 involved in this study.

Supported the NASA Geodesy and Geophysics Laboratory.Developed a database consolidating data from NASA's Space Geodesy Project. Extensive use of HTML, Javascript, and AngularJS involved in this project

Assessed the efficacy of atmospheric pressure plasma in the deactivation of micro-organisms.Characterized plasma treated samples with spectrophotometry and Colony Forming Units. Examined the change in morphology of treated samples through scanning electron microscopy. Results published and presented at the NASA Ames 2017 poster session (Publication number SP-2017-219550)

Finalized the NICER Ground System in preparation for its June 2017 launch.Engineered a real time visualization model for NICER utilizing Analytical Graphic's Satellite Tool Kit. NICER successfully launched to the International Space Station in June 2017

Assigned to the Neutron star Interior Composition ExploreR mission (NICER). Analyzed NICER data in order to assess the performance of the payload's actuators.Extensive use of MATLAB involed in order to process data.Presented results to the Goddard Campus at GSFC's summer 2016 session.

Designed and engineered an autonomous NICER ground system utilizing tools from Goddard's Mission Service Evolution Center.Implemented the ground system into NICER's mission operations center.
