The Major Projects Portfolio ensures that SRO's and their teams receive the support that they need to deliver successfully and to ensure that the department has oversight of its major delivery Projects and Programmes.* The Portfolio is made up of Projects and Programmes with a whole life cost of over £20m and/or are novel, contentious or repercussive.* I also work closely with the Governments Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA)Overview of my role:* Build and nurture key relationships with leaders in their groups as well as delivery teams for Major Projects, building trust around information sharing and timely escalation of risks and issues* Work with senior leaders to identify emerging projects and programmes and help to get Major Projects on the right footing quickly* Build understanding of each business area, the sector context and the barriers and opportunities for improving delivery of strategic objectives*Support business case development.* Broker and help prioritise the support and expertise available from across the department and elsewhere, including the IPA, DfE’s Centre of Excellence for Project Delivery and the wider professional pool.* Provide practical professional support and guide people to the right information, advice and guidance. Derby

Managed the implementation of a multi-million Campus Infrastructure Refresh project in 5 months. Scope included replacing the core, distribution and access layer switches, the wireless controllers and APs across multiple data centres and sites.Project managed the IT Workstream within a Human Resources programme. This has included leading on process review and improvement, business analysis, requirements gathering, roles and access matrix, IT infrastructure set up, data migration, UAT Testing, quality assurance and setting up and running a Hypercare centre post go-live to deal with end user queries.

Managed a team 3rd line team of 12 Engineers that were responsible for the University of Derby’s IT Infrastructure that covered Networks, Servers, Storage, Identity and Security. My team primarily focused on delivering excellent service provision, development of current solutions, IT project work packages, service improvement, monitoring, management and incident response (in and out of hours).

Managed several strategic projects that included, but were not limited to: Procurement and installation for new student record software. Implementing an NHS network via a 3rd party into the College for Health and Social Care. Installing over 200 Aps throughout multiple university owned sites to increased wireless coverage. All were delivered on time and within budget.

• Train police officers at all levels on the use of their new IT system.• Delivered modular lessons that covered the following business areas - Crime, Intelligence, Property and Custody and Case Prep. • Developed lesson plans and supporting material such as PowerPoint's and hand-outs. • Work with the project team to highlight and manage any issues that has arisen from the training.
