Aimee worked as a Human Factors Analyst with the Healthcare Human Factors team within the University Health Network. She acted as a consultant, researcher and evaluator to conduct heuristic evaluations, usability testing and contextual inquiries.

• Heuristic evaluation of self-monitoring blood glucose monitors (Supporting Role)- Heuristic evaluation of self-monitory blood glucose monitors using human factors and usability principles • Evaluating automated external defibrillators (AEDs) with elder (65+) adults (Supporting Role) - Updated previous research design for elder adults, programed and operated iStan Patient Simulator, heuristic evaluations of two AED devices using human factors and usability principles, recorded and coded research sessions using Noldus Observer and SPSS analysis• Crash cart drug drawer layout and design (Lead Role) - Research design of methods and analysis, task analysis of current emergency department practice and use of crash carts, participant recruitment, development of “puzzle pieces” to allow emergency nurses to create a mock drug drawer layout and qualitative analysis of the design themes• Quality assurance review of the use of intravenous (IV) bags as surgical positioning aids in the operating room (Lead Role) - Quality assurance investigation, interviewing head nurses to determine protocol and task analysis revolving around operating room preparation, during surgery and post-surgery pertaining to IV bags, survey development to determine current practice and use of IV bags in the operating room and qualitative analysis of survey responses
