Worked to support the delivery of the Water Framework Directive fish monitoring surveys using standard European fish sampling methodologies. I primarily worked on lakes using gill nets and fyke nets to compile and analyze information on fish species composition, abundance, age structure, species sensitivity, reproduction and growth rate.

Coordinated the administration of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland's energy workshop programme in schools around Ireland. I liaised with a network of An Taisce and Science Foundation Ireland facilitators to deliver workshops and training to schools and community groups on energy, climate and sustainability. This included managing bookings.

Seasonal contract to support the delivery of the Climate Change Mitigation Research Programme. I provided support in establishing a long-term monitoring programme to provide scientific data to support the management of habitat and fishery resources for climate change amelioration. My role involved installing and maintaining climate change monitoring.

Philippines

The Reef-World Foundation is the leading partner of the UN Environment initiative Green Fins, which provides the only international, environmental standards for the diving and snorkelling industry. I supported the project planning, development and implementation of the Green Fins initiative in South East Asia. This included project marketing.

Dublin

Seasonal contract to support the delivery of Ireland’s National Research Survey Programme. I participated in fish stock surveys using various European methodologies in Irish lakes and rivers. Fieldwork involved the use of gill nets, fyke nets and electrofishing as well as assisting on hydromorphology and river barrier assessments.

I carried out my research-based final year project in the Trinity College Zoology Department. I conducted an in-situ study, which investigated how warming modifies the effect of intraspecific competition and parasitism on the population dynamics and functioning of Gammarus duebeni.
