The course used a process-driven approach in which the first half of the term were many input classes. Students learnt how to form a literary interpretive thesis statement, do close reading and incorporate works of criticism. After the midterm reading week, I would grade their partial drafts, conduct tutorials in which I would elicit questions that would scaffold the rest of the writings they will do that term.
