Review medical charts of patients with Crohn’s Disease and/or Ulcerative Colitis to determine their eligibility for clinical trials. Discuss and advocate for patients’ participation in trials with the research coordinators and patient’s physician. Speak with patients to understand their disease severity as well as concerns. Educate patients on how clinical trials works and the pros and cons of participating in them

Assist the lab in conducting research in neuroscience and psychology.Assist the Principle Investigator in literature reviews, study recruitment, study administration, data collection, and general office tasks.

Assist with the planning and execution of programs. This includes composing introductory remarks for speakers, performing thorough research on the topic of the program, keeping up to date with current affairs around the globe.

I accompany physicians to patient rooms to transcribe medical history and physical exam into petient's medical charts, and I coordinated with departmental resources regarding tests, orders, radiology and results.

As part of the cancer prevention research institute at UT Health, undergraduates get to spend their summer approaching various different factors that go into providing medical attention to a cancer patient and survivor. This program allows students to approach one major research question about health disparities, etc. through an innovative, "think out of the box" method that would not have been the obvious path to take, Additionally, interns get the opportunity to work with mentors who are experts in their field of research.
