I have a passion for learning about people and connecting them to things they care about. I also love thinking strategically about big, game-changing ideas. Luckily, I've gotten to do plenty of both as a multi-faceted development pro for 14 years. In my mind, philanthropy should always be about helping people invest in organizations and movements that create innovative, monumental change and are deeply, personally meaningful. As Associate Director of Philanthropy with The Nature Conservancy, I work directly with donors who are passionate about protecting the lands and waters on which all life depends. I manage a portfolio of donors as part of the North Carolina team, helping supporters make an impact in the state and around with the world with outright major gifts, gifts of complex assets, and deferred gifts. In my prior role as Director of Advancement for the NC League of Conservation Voters, I worked build a strong major gifts and individual giving program that raised both 501(c)3 and 501(c)(4) funds that fueled a movement of citizens advocating for strong environmental policies. I've spent parts of my career as a researcher and author, as well as a do-it-all fundraiser. I continue to be excited by funding and executing a big vision for re-imagining communities and creating a brighter, healthier world.
