My name is Aisha Marcos, and I am a graduate student in the M. Arch program at Washington State University. I am a first-generation college student and earned a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies with a minor in Construction Management at WSU. I have taken relevant coursework throughout my academic experience which helped me in honing my skillset and knowledge for my career path – such as Digital Analysis and Representation, Architectural Structures, Materials, Estimating, Planning and Scheduling, Advance Tectonics, Safety and Health, and Site and Landscape.I am currently working as a Space Specialist/Graphic Designer for the VCEA Facility Operations & Safety Services at Washington State University. With that position, I have experience on leading a team of student workers/interns to train new hires and delegate tasks in our team. I also create various proposals for space beautification, maintenance, branding and remodeling of spaces within the college, and communicate with vendors regarding materials being used for each project and scheduling their installation. I have also previously worked as a research assistant for one of the professors in WSU School of Design and Construction to gather data of parametric/computational geometries and designs, create physical models, sketches, renderings and simulations of the designs as well as help in the assembly of installation pieces in exhibitions.With both my academic background and work experience, I further enhanced and broadened my technical skills using 3D modeling and rendering programs as well as creative software – such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, SketchUp, Lumion, Twinmotion, and other programs alike. I have also greatly developed my skills in communication, administrative management, and working effectively and efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
