Responsible for organistion, culture, staffing, development and ways of working within the Ark Ventures team. Handed over the role while on maternity leave and then returned to a secondment with Get Further.

Built high-functioning executive team (new Director of Ops and Chief Programmes Officer started in early 2022), raised 3x fundraising target, including securing Get Furthers’ first multi-year pledge, focused team on impact and excellence in operational and programme deliveryLed organisation through a period of exceptional growth – delivering to over 1,700 students (vs 800 in 2020/21), growing the number of tutors employed from under 40 to 80+, doubling the central team from 7 to 14, and a doubling of earned income from ~£500k to over £1.1m

Responsible for business and programme operations, finance, HR and governance through a period of exceptional growth and covid-19 related disruptionLed recruitment as we shifted from 100% online delivery during Covid to returning to majority in-person delivery and as we rapidly expanded our student places, regions and number of tutors neededLed operations through a period of maturation and transformation, including implementing new payroll and shift tracking processes to ensure accurate payments as delivery and tutor team size grew, and supporting team to redesign our enrolment, data management and other systems and processes for scale

Responsible for leading and delivering project work, owning the day-to-day client relationship during projects and managing junior team members. Part of Capability Building team, and responsible for delivering training in effective project management and mentoring clients.

Supporting the Chairman, Dame Gail Rebuck, on her strategic projects and engagements. Also worked with the Penguin Random House Integration team on Business Change, co-leading projects on author care and ensuring our publishing teams have access to the data they need in an intuitive way.

I led customer feedback and insights at Nutmeg, a startup online wealth manager. I ensured that recommendations and insights from users were coded into product development and overall strategy. I led efforts to collect feedback using online surveys, phone and face to face interviews, with techniques rooted in design thinking and human-computer interaction. Viewing customer support enquires as a key source of live feedback, I also set up Nutmeg's initial customer support function and ethos, including building a team from scratch.

At Bain I:-Led a team to understand customers' perceptions of a food retailer, including designing a customer survey and managing a team to interview customers, and communicated the findings back to the client.-Built a detailed Excel model valuing a new plastic. This model was used by the technical marketing manager to explain the financial value of the new plastic's physical properties to customers. Helped the R&D team streamline and speed their research and innovation processes, and helped build understanding and bridge any gaps between business leadership and the R&D function. -Clarified decision making roles and responsibilities allowing the client to operate more efficiently and make better decisions. -Built the firm - set up language lessons for staff, helped plan firm-wide summer events and was a member of the recruiting team, screening and interviewing new consultants and presenting to prospective applicants.

During a 6-month placement from Bain, I helped a client expand internationally, shifting responsibility from Seattle to India and China, improve their organisational effectiveness and create a development strategy that would allow them to increase their funding from $5M to $12M per year.The Bridgespan Group helps nonprofit and philanthropic leaders develop strategies and build organisations that inspire and accelerate social change.
