Profile bio

About Aisha W.

I balance a commitment to community development and social justice with my academic research at the intersection of Black Studies and Critical Disability Studies. In the last five years, I have brought my keen structural analysis and strong communication skills to bear on institutional policy and practice. I have supported initiatives to enhance accessibility, equity, and inclusion on campus based on extensive study and experience. After nearly five years as a frontline worker in the non-profit sector, I maintain a passionate interest in the experiences of immigrant and refugee communities and incorporate a gender-based, trauma-informed lens in program delivery. I put my knowledge into action through responsive service delivery, collaborative programming, peer mentorship, volunteer recruitment, event coordination, and administrative work. In that time, I built a reputation for my principled, compassionate approach; attention to detail; and my professionalism that I have carried with me. In a rapidly changing world, I look forward to opportunities for continued growth!Views expressed on LinkedIn are my own and do not reflect those of my employer.
