Cognitive Interaction in Motion (CogIMon) is a EU funded research project in the Horizon2020 framework. The project aims to bring a step change in the human robot interaction capabilities, in particular for the compliant humanoid COMAN (www.cogimon.eu). As a post doctoral researcher , my key responsibilities were to explore the sensory and motor primitives in human throwing and catching tasks. A series of experiments were designed to examine human behavior involving unconstrained solo throwing, interactive throwing and catching in real and virtual worlds. The analysis involved representing complex high dimensional human action data into a compact low dimensional representation for action predictability and action classification. The information obtained from above was directly useful for the robotics consortium working on human robot interaction in context to human - robot rehabilitation and team work scenarios.

Key responsibilities: 1. Conduct and build on evidence based practices (specifically biomechanics and performance analysis) on elite and developing athletes associated with the National Sports Institute. 2. Responsible for providing knowledge, support and feedback to national level Coaches, Athletes and Colleagues on multiple fronts. Experience was gained working with Malaysian Silat, Badminton, Diving, Squash, Tenpin bowling and in general, developing and implementing protocols for biomechanical lab testing (e.g. gait analysis, injury screening) 3. Working directly with the stake holders and research lead to devise interventions, collect, analyse and interpret high performance data in the context of athletic performance and well-being3. Plan and educate stake holders on best practices within the context of biomechanics and performance analysis (e.g.interventions on testing protocols, data analysis and interpretation, equipment budgeting, day to day operations)4. Reporting to head of high performance and various important stakeholders to disseminate findings related to athletic well-being and performance5. Explore, develop and test new and existing technologies and analysis methods addressing to specificrequirements related to athletic skill, rehabilitation and performance

Working in the "movement innovation lab"​, the focus of research was to develop and further deploy state of the art technologies such as immersive interactive virtual reality, mo-cap/IT systems towards understanding and improving characteristics of movement performance across a broad range of movement scenarios (self paced action such as walking or a penalty kick or to a more dynamic interceptive action such as cricket batting, deceptive movement in rugby). The work also extended in exploring and validating low cost commercial devices such as MS Kinect, Smart Ball, Occulus Rift in particular scenarios.

Working as Assistant Performance Analyst the project involved identification of performance parameters which can improve the performance of GB female boxers. Dartfish was used to analyse several videos and the quantitative data obtained was analysed using Matlab/MS Excel to derive factors such as performance efficiency, punchrate etc. The analysis also revealed information on fatigue as well as the psychological state of the boxer during a bout.

Working for EIS Sheffield the project involved working on dedicated software i-Boxer to organize database for elite boxers. i-Boxer is a user friendly interface which can be used to analyse a boxers past performances.Such dedicated softwares are used in many sports to organize and analyse data obtained from video feedback. Knowledge for MySQL, professional boxing were key to project.
