Research InternIndian Institute Of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi Jan 2019 - May 2019Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, IndiaHydro-thermal analysis of the effect of curvature and corrugation on the performance of Solar Air Heater (SAH).- Geometry was divided into three sections: inlet plenum, heater duct and outlet plenum with the lengths as 650 mm, 1200 mm and 350 mm respectively and the cross-sectional area of 300×50 mm2. - A finite volume based numerical study of the incompressible forced flow through the duct of SAH was carried out using codes of ANSYS on Google Virtual Machines for a fine discretization with about 5 Million elements. - The fluid domain was validated from the results of correlation equations for the Nusselt number and friction factor.- Analysis was done for Reynolds numbers (4000-8000), heat flux (800-1200 W/m2), and 5 different radii of curvature.- Found the optimized geometry based on the outlet temperature and thermohydraulic performance parameter,- The study aimed to optimize the conversion of this renewable energy based on the application sector. -
