Hi!I'm Aislin and I'm a Australia-based student working towards an Honours in Physics at the University of Sydney. As of the end of 2023, I hold a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physics and Computer Science from The University of Auckland. Throughout my undergraduate studies I was granted several awards and scholarships, including the Gillies Scholarship, the Potentia Undergraduate Scholarship in Computer Science, and the Department of Physics Scholarship over two successive years, and graduated with a GPA of 8.45 (A average). I was also awarded a Summer Research Project in 2022 from the Department of Mathematics, during which I undertook research into undergraduate mathematics education in proofs under Dr. Igor' Kontorovich.In 2024, I'm undertaking my Honours in Sydney with the support of the CSIRO/SQA Next Generation Honours Scholarship, the University of Sydney Honours Relocation Scholarship, and the University of Sydney Honours Scholarship. Under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Smith and Dr. Xanthe Croot, I'm currently researching the development of noise-protected and fault-tolerant superconducting circuits through the replacement of the traditional transmon qubit with other novel qubits.Outside of university, I've tutored the International Baccalaureate curriculum for several years now, most recently for Nexus Tutoring, a startup cofounded by myself and several friends from high school focused on providing high quality academic support and holistic care for students.I'm currently looking to continue into a PhD program, with my main research interests being condensed matter physics, superconducting quantum computing, and topologically protected qubits.
