I have a strong passion for social justice and the empowerment of young people to achieve their full potential. Through my various roles working with young people in different capacities I have developed an understanding and appreciation of the capacity of young people to self determine and hope to continue to facilitate this agency throughout my career. My empathy, resilience, open minded way of thinking and desire to learn and grow has made me excel in this field as I quickly build connections both with staff and the young people with whom I work. I have always loved the self expression that writing provides though until relatively recently I didn't view it as a viable pathway for me to make a living. As a freelance writer I enjoy the freedom of working on projects which interest me - primarily related to social issues, pop culture, music, and politics. I am eager to continue to build my portfolio and skill set, and to build on the connections I am already making.
