Elected by current committee members to the Northern Ireland Healthcare Leadership Forum (NIHLF), a student-led society made up of NI healthcare students of multiple disciplines, who promote and inspire improvement in healthcare. In this role, I intend to advocate for equitable healthcare for all social groups, and to use my voice as a trainee healthcare professional to influence systemic approaches to healthcare.

Worked in a team in a high-pressure clinical environment to protect the wellbeing of at-risk individuals and to support a wide range of healthcare professionals. This patient facing role involves communicating with individuals of a wide range of backgrounds, necessitates constant learning, and has impressed upon me the value of efficiency and organisation at every level of patient care.

- Responsible for the pastoral and welfare concerns of over 300 undergraduate students. - Managed an annual budget of £6000, including providing free and universal sexual and menstrual health supplies and providing mental health workshops.- Liaised between the undergraduate population and the senior academic and welfare staff of the college, advocating for student issues at twice termly meetings.- Led a team of nine peer supporters trained by the University Counselling Service to provide pastoral support to fellow students.

Worked as part of a team to care for over one hundred elderly patients, which developed my ability to balance time efficient execution of tasks while retaining attention to detail and a compassionate demeanour. The loss of several patients encouraged me to learn how to cope with the emotional strain of undertaking care work, and how to balance my personal involvement in the job with professional and consistent care.
