Following graduation I worked as a General Dentist at Cornelscourt Dental, Blackrock Dental and The Dental Suite in Dublin, Ireland. I advanced my skills in patient assessment and diagnosis, restorative dentistry, endodontics and extractions. I gained valuable experience working with nervous patients and children and completed a number of treatments using nitrous oxide.

During my Psychology studies I conducted a number of research projects in the field of Cognitive Neuropsychology. My masters research focussed on memory and directed forgetting using EEG methods. Following this, I worked as a research assistant, further expanding the research project into specific areas of retrieval inhibition. These projects were supervised by Dr. Hannie van Hooff at the Department of Psychology, University of Kent. My doctorate research spanned topics of object recognition, texture perception, visual and tactile processing and MRI. This research was conducted within the Multisensory Cognition Research Group, Institute of Neuroscience, Trinity College Dublin, under the supervision of Prof. Fiona Newell. My thesis was funded by the New and Emerging Science and Technology (NEST) initiative, European Union.
