- Co-leading a Swiss-wide working group on NGS-based microbes typing and characterization, gathering clinicians, clinical microbiologists and researchers from Swiss hospitals and research institutions. I joined the Computational Intelligence for Computational Biology group to work on applied projects as a senior bioinformatician, also supervising Bachelor and Master students on various projects.- Designed and implemented machine-learning-based bioinformatics analyses to obtain a list of candidate molecules used to further develop a viral screening test by two European SMEs (Bioscientia.pl, BIOTEM.fr).- Performed market research for the product in Switzerland, Denmark and Norway.- Successfully initiated and raised funds for a project in collaboration with two Swiss hospitals, on the machine-learning-based identification of therapeutic phages against antibiotics-resistant bacteria (+500’000Fr for the institute).

Swiss Institute For Experimental Cancer Research, Lausanne, Vaud, Switzerland

As a computational biologist, these three years at EPFL allowed me to dive into experimental biology and deepen my knowledge and understanding of biology. Highlights:- Unraveled one of the mechanisms setting the thermal limits of metazoan organisms, using an integrative approach (cell biology, metabolism and image analysis).- Successful fundraising: obtained a SystemsX.ch postdoc fellowship for three years (salary + CHF 10'000/year).

- Successfully led projects on the robustness of development to internal and environmental perturbations, and on the metabolic behaviour of brain cells (several national/international collaborations). - Areas of expertise: modelling, data analysis and bioinformatics.- Highlight: recipient of the Young Bioinformatician Award 2010 from the Swiss Institute of BioinformaticsMember of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB) Educational Board, which aimed (among other things) at fostering interactions and promote high level training of PhD students in Switzerland working in computational biology-related areas.

I joined the Children Hospital of Lausanne on a short term contract. I was hired to finish the implementation of an educational computer game for diabetic children (started by others). I delivered a fully debugged, functional, multi-language platform.
