Aivee hails from Dolores, Eastern Samar. She currently resides in Catbalogan City, Samar while working as a freelance writer and translator for government and non-government organizations/institutions and private entities. As part of her advocacy towards promoting regional languages, she also collaborates with local writers as a writer, editor, translator, and copyreader for Waray and Philippine literary publications. She is an active member of Eastern Visayas’ KATIG Writers’ Network currently serving as its Secretary. She writes poetry and creative nonfiction in Waray and self-translates them to English. Some of poems and essays in Waray have been published by the National Commission for Culture and Arts, Ateneo de Naga University, and UP Press, among others.Aside from people-watching, her other non-literary interests include stage design, psychology, mythology and folklore, women's reproductive health, financial literacy, mental health, painting, and today’s pop culture such as anime, graphic novels, films, and Western TV series.
