Being in a smaller organisation (150 employees) senior management like myself tend to be actively involved in many aspects of the business, often overlapping with your department. Some of my more routine and general duties includes, but not limited to: • Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting and reforecast processes.• Management of full finance team. • Facilitating the operations and development of the company’s finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.• Overseeing costings, stock processes, stock reconciliations, BOM’s accuracy etc.• Ensuring pricing and SP’s on SKU’s are up to date, live and accurate for both the distribution and retail channels.• Facilitating stock take processes and variance analysis and reporting. • Taxation (VAT, PAYE, Corporate tax, duties & exporting taxes)• Daily & Monthly Cashflow planning and implementation.• Assisting with external stakeholders such as creditors, service providers, auditors, banks and customers.• Investment and spend planning (Annually, quarterly and monthly).• Management of the full GL function of the operation, from source documentation to AFS level. • Monthly board meetings reporting and strategic planning implementation. • Annual strategic planning involvement and oversight. • Payroll reviews & sign off.• Various other duties relating to the operations and management of the distribution and retail aspects of the business.

Managing full financial function of North West region stores.Management function includes but is not limited to:Managing financial function of each store within the region.Managing staff compliment of the region (Store FM's, accountants, bookkeepers & clerks).Compiling and consolidating financial reporting from region to national head office.Implementing strategic planning from national head office to region (Ops & finance).Reporting back into operations at store level to ensure uniformity between store-level operations and finance. Ensure audit compliance (internal & external) of each store and entity. Ensure accuracy & timeliness of statutory reporting. Ensure accuracy of financial reporting of each store. Ensuring all cash processes are in place and reconciliation of cash and electronic funds takes place daily at the store level. Ensuring balance sheet accuracy of each store.Implement Capex structuring and planning at store level together with ops (including securing cash flow for such undertakings). Linking merchandising teams with cash flow functions.Effective stock strategies (buying, trading, and terms).Implementation and control of risk mitigating procedures (Ops & financial).Ensuring best practices with regards to strategic buying (price, rates of sales, rebates & discounts).Ensuring accuracy and completeness of stock takes (bi-annual per store) and the reporting of this to national head office. Investigate material hazards and shortages and the implementation of strategy to mitigate this risk.
