CurrentKuwait International Airport ,Terminal IIThe Terminal Building costing 1.35 Billion US Dollars is capable of handling 13MPPA and with a provision to accommodate 25 MPPA in the future. This is made up of a basement level that covers the entire footprint of the building and houses MEP rooms and baggage carousels. There are further two levels that accommodate arrivals and departures as well as three levels of mezzanine floors. The terminal building has a triangular footprint. Each side is concave and is approximately 1.2 km long. The roof profile is cut from a sphere and it cantilevers up to 60 meters beyond the facade line to provide shading to the facade, fixed links and landside drop-off areas. A 45m high roof covers the central portion of the terminal.The main construction elements of the terminal are:• Composite roof including photovoltaic roof panels• Approximately 116 elevators• Approximately 28 travellators• Approximately 85 Escalators• MEP, Baggage & Special Systems• Internal fit out and finishesAirside Hotel inside Terminal Building:Consisting of an approximate area of 15,000m2, over two levels.Safe Area (Terminal Building- 2 No)Safe areas located within basement levels. These safe areas have dedicatedseparate MEP supply and are located in the Terminal Building.Central Plant Facility Comprising of basement, ground and first floor, its approximate area being9,402m2 This is located outside the main terminal building that provides powerand chilled water to the terminal via dedicated utility tunnel. The main MEPcomponents housed in this building: includes Chillers, Pumps, AHU's,Generators, Electrical Sub-stations, Transformers, BMS Control room, Staffoffices, Dormitory, Prayer room, Toilets, Staff Canteen and Stores.
