• At Verizon, I worked extensively in the IP Application Hosting and Verizon/Terremark Cloud environments, where I managed a range of Microsoft Exchange environments (2003, 2007, 2010, 2013) to ensure the efficient operation of email communication systems. My responsibilities also included administering Microsoft Windows Server across multiple versions (2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2), focusing on optimizing server performance and reliability.I played a key role in maintaining Microsoft Windows Active Directory across various iterations (2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2), ensuring secure and efficient directory services. My work extended to implementing and managing Microsoft SQL Server (2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2014), where I concentrated on database management and optimization.To enhance network security, I set up Microsoft Forefront TMG 2010 frontend infrastructure and developed security policies for new Microsoft Windows builds (2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2), upholding stringent system security standards. I led the creation of a Windows 2008 "green" Active Directory forest in collaboration with Active Directory and Exchange administrators, implementing Exchange 2010 CAS and HUB servers and establishing a robust 3-server Exchange architecture in a Database Availability Group (DAG). My role involved managing trusts between source forests and the new forest, utilizing Quest QMM for AD and Exchange migrations. I successfully migrated and synchronized AD objects and Exchange mailboxes from legacy servers, consolidating data and systems across multiple sites.Additionally, I configured FAS6000 series NetApp SAN and various Exchange 2007 roles, including HUB, CAS, and Mailbox, while implementing F5 load balancers, SCC clusters, Symantec Mail Security, and Ninja Anti-Spam for Exchange 2007. I managed complex migrations from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007, as well as from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2007, which involved server upgrades, Active Directory re-architecture, BlackBerry server configuration, and user migration using Quest NME and MS Transporter suite.I also oversaw the management of MS Exchange Server 2000 and 2003 in a clustered environment for large customer accounts, handling a user base of approximately 500,000. My responsibilities included managing enterprise backups via HP Data Protector, SPAM filters, BES (BlackBerry) Servers, Public Folders, mailbox moves, message tracking, and the Lotus Notes to Exchange migration processes. To ensure network and server health, I utilized various monitoring tools, including OpenView and CIM.

I led the Support, Network, and Server teams across multiple locations, including Englewood, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Burbank, CA, Chicago, IL, Nashville, TN, and Kansas City, KS. My responsibilities included managing a wide range of network equipment, such as routers (Cisco, Lucent Ascend), firewalls (Cisco, Nortel), and switches (Cisco, HP), as well as overseeing T1s, Frame Relays, ISDNs, DSLs, and DS3 connections, all while ensuring HIPAA compliance.I restructured the DHCP architecture using non-internet resolvable addresses and implemented PAT, NAT, and static addressing on servers. I built and maintained 120 Dell and Compaq/HP servers across six U.S. sites, running on Windows 2000 and later upgraded to Windows 2003. Additionally, I managed FTP and website maintenance and transitioned from WINS to DNS in preparation for Active Directory with a unified NT Domain Architecture, eventually implementing an interconnected Active Directory infrastructure across all sites.I upgraded MS Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000, centralizing SMTP traffic in Englewood, and implemented a 7-server MS Terminal Server Farm/Cluster along with MS ISA Server for Internet proxy. I also upgraded MS SQL 6.5 Servers to SQL 2000 on Windows 2003 Server and introduced NAS technology at two sites using ProComm and NetApp.Furthermore, I transitioned backup solutions to ArcServe with OverLand AIT 3, launched VoIP systems at Englewood and Burbank sites, and established Wi-Fi for laptop users and global VPNs using DES, 3DES, SHA, and MD5, including remote VPNs with Nortel Network’s Contivity VPN switches. I implemented a comprehensive antivirus solution across the intranet using Trend and Norton Antivirus products and developed server monitoring (SNMP) solutions and tools for network/server access. Additionally, I managed procurement for servers, PCs, and printers, ensuring efficient resource allocation and deployment across the organization.

I managed over 80 Compaq ProLiant and HP LH servers for a Louisville domain, supporting a user base of 7,000. My responsibilities included constructing and maintaining NT servers, configuring both server software and hardware to ensure optimal performance. I collaborated with a team to create a 14-server Citrix Metaframe farm, which facilitated UNIX client access to Microsoft products and MS Exchange email.I successfully migrated data from legacy servers to supported servers in the data center, consolidating 200GB of data from seven servers to a new location. Utilizing HP's DTA, I managed remote system inventory and software upgrade deployments, ensuring all systems were up to date. I also oversaw data backup processes and performed necessary data restorations as needed.My role involved administering a Clariion Raid 5 disk storage array for NT servers, facilitating Windows to UNIX connectivity using NFS and Samba, and contributing to the integration of NT servers with STK's SAN solution. Additionally, I streamlined legacy print servers, employing HP JetAdmin and Web JetAdmin for consolidation tasks.As an administrator, I managed Microsoft Exchange, WinDD, Terminal Server, QIP (DHCP management software), UNIX print queues, and LiveLink collaboration tools. I played a key role in developing the directory access hierarchy and managed daily user and group network access, maintaining overall network integrity. I also contributed to the transition of MS Exchange 4.0 Servers to MS Exchange 5.5, ensuring a smooth upgrade process.
