About Ajay Dev

I'm a geoscience researcher with a PhD specializing in igneous petrology, isotope geochemistry and Archean geology. My research utilizes bulk rock geochemical data (volcanic and plutonic rocks), mineral compositions, radiogenic isotopes (Sr-Nd-Hf and U-Pb geochronology) to understand geological evolution of Precambrian terrains. I have experience with protocol development, data acquisition and preventive maintenance of an array of advanced analytical instruments used in geosciences. This includes X-ray fluorescence (XRF), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Laser Ablation (Nd YAG 213 nm NWR and CETAC LSX-213 G2 ), High Resolution Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (HR ICP MS, Thermo Element XR and Nu Attom), Multi-collector ICP MS (Thermo Neptune Plus) and Thermal Ionisation Mass Spectrometer (TIMS, Thermo Triton Plus). Additional skills include knowledge of different acid digestion techniques, chromatographic separation of Sr, Nd and Cr for isotopic analyses as well as routine maintenance of clean chemistry labs.
