I started my career in R&D at ITI Ltd in 1976.Worked in satellite communications planning, installation, operations, NOCC for about 9 years at the start of my innings in DoT (then P&T). Later had the opportunity of working in operations of long distance MW and OFC networks. Planned, installed and operated mobile network of BSNL in one Telecom Circle having mountainous and remote areas.Was head of Network Management in BSNL corporate office. Set up KU Band VSAT network, SSTP network and Network Management system for Long Distance Traffic switching network of BSNL.Handled Licensing and regulation work in DoT in various positions of responsibility. Last was SrDDG, Access Services handling licensing in one of most difficult periods immediately after cancellation of Licences by the Supreme Court in 2012. Participated in many bilateral and and multilateral meetings in India and abroad, including the negotiations at Uruguay round of talks in GATT.Started the new stream of work on M2M communications in TEC with overwhelming participation of industry, service providers, academia etc. and release technical reports on architecture and various verticals.
