In my current position, I market general insurance policies to individuals as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).This involves sourcing clients and understanding their general insurance requirements to analyse the risk involved and suggest insurance products. I consistently obtain competitive quotes from various insurance providers in the market as per requirement. I also utilise sound relationship management skills, interacting with underwriters and a wide variety of clients.» Client requirements include an expansive line of products, such as business pack, liability, professional indemnity (PI), marine and motor for SMEs, and individuals.

While working here (part-time), I monitored and reported on client’s insurance concentration risk charge (ICRC). I also evaluated and edited client’s reinsurance arrangement statements (RASs). I conducted peer review on quarterly returns to Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), as well as assisted with updates to risk management system.

Here, I played a key role in the underwriting of catastrophe treaty business and facultative contracts. I also oversaw the work of three colleagues, assisting with their knowledge development and technical skills. I acted as the first point of contact and managed relationships with third parties, including actuary, auditor, risk consultant, and data modelling provider. I conducted retrocession claim recoveries and analysed outgoing claims payments and receivables. In addition, I prepared and validated insurance liability valuation report (ILVR) data for submission to actuary. I also managed the fulfillment of all regulatory and compliance requirements. And I contributed to the preparation, presentation, and placement of retrocession contract. I made several significant contributions during my time here, among them:» Instrumental in company transformation (underwriting and claims management) after large catastrophic losses in 2010 and 2011, resulting in solvency improvement of the Sydney branch.» Collaborated with colleagues to implement several innovative changes according to directives from head office.
