Currently working on a project for a Saudi-based Insurance company. The project is essentially web/mobile browser-based portal for the purchase and renewal of insurance. Some of the interesting features of this project include:1) Language Switching : The web-site must be similarly usable in both English and Arabic. And the user must be able to switch an any point of time or on any page of the application, without the loss of entered data.2) Retrieval/Editing of an Insurance Quote : Before finalizing an insurance policy and paying for it, the user can retrieve and customize the features of the insurance policy as desired.3) Approx Price calculated from the first page : From the first page onwards and as soon as the minimum required details are entered, the user can view approximately how much the insurance premium will be.We had developed the back-end micro-services earlier and right now, we are integrating the same with the front-end side using event-driven Javascript, a Thymeleaf + Spring Controller framework and a REST-Client based architecture.

I had the opportunity to work on a couple of projects with different architectures. Some of them are (starting from the most recent) :1) Worked as part of an off-shore team for our client in Saudi Arabia, a leading Insurance-based company. This was a rather unique and challenging job as we were supporting a technical team that was maintaining/developing for many different insurance domains (such as Vehicle Insurance, Travel Insurance, etc.) of the company. We had to implement change requests, fix old pending bugs, analyse, understand and fix issues with old code implementations, without impacting the current functionality. Reporting was done daily and tasks were handed to us on a daily/weekly basis. On a whole, this is one of the more hectic periods of working, but I got to learn a lot about client-communication and improving my work efficiency and effectiveness.2) Worked on a secure messaging module for a US-based Healthcare company.In the US, health-related data and health-care information is regarded as confidential as finance-related data and standards to maintained are very high and stringent. This module is essentially an highly secure email client that used Direct messaging (a secure web e-mail that is specifically designed for the exchange of patient health information). As part of meeting the standards before an audit, I got to work on and learn about some of the network-related technology in sending secure emails.3) Worked on developing Micro-services for our client, a Saudi-based insurance company.As part of introducing a new insurance module, we worked on developing the micro-services for the same. We used a REST-based architecture along with Hibernate and Oracle SQL for development. While some of the micro-services were specific to the new insurance domain, others were generic and could be used in the other insurance domains as upgrades to the existing service architectures.
