I head the Community Impact initiatives of United Way Mumbai. As part of the Senior Management, I have successfully helped form strategic alliances with local and state government bodies, international organizations and other stakeholders to implement high-impact projects in community-related issues. My core areas of expertise include designing and implementing high-impact CSR programs, programme development, multi-stakeholder partnership management and community participation. I have also been the visiting faculty for an Emergency Response Management course for the PTMBA at NMIMS. My expertise is working on organizational strategy, development and human resource-related matters. I have detailed knowledge about the CSR compliance-related laws in India and have been liaisoning with several corporate donors (multi-national and large Indian corporates). I have extensive experience in people/ team management and grant management, including developing project monitoring and evaluation frameworks. After graduating from Nirmala Niketan, I earned an MA in Social Work from TISS, Mumbai, specializing in Urban and Rural Community Development. I head the Community Impact department, wherein we conceptualize, develop and implement high impact community projects on the theme of public safety (United for Road Safety, Integrated Watershed Management, disaster management & response), environment (Mission Mangroves, Clean Shores, waste management) and social inclusion (Mumbai 360). Over my 14 years stint at UWM, I have been pivotal in developing several successful, large-scale community impact initiatives and have developed strong collaborations with key governmental agencies for successful public-private partnerships. I have been pivotal in implementing the pilot project of the ViA- Global Road Safety Education project with support from GRSP in India and we have been successfully implementing and managing the ViA project across 6 cities of India across 100 schools. I have also been managing large-scale grants especially in the field of watershed management and disaster response interventions across India.While spearheading Community Impact initiatives at United Way of Mumbai, my role is to manage the team of professionals for successful implementation of the projects, liaise with key stakeholders (government, civil society groups & corporates). Project designing & development, effective project execution, resource mobilization, impact assessment and documentation, and ensure strategic positioning of the organization among the key city stakeholders have been some of my key performance areas. Besides this, I have also been an active member of the core leadership team at United Way Mumbai whereby I have contributed actively to visioning, strategy making, and overall organizational development.

As Program Manager, I coordinated projects in the field of environment, health, civic issues and disaster preparedness. One of the major projects undertaken by me: Since November 2007, United Way Mumbai Helpline was appointed by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) as the official Third Party Auditor of their Clean-Up Mumbai campaign. Under this partnership, I worked directly from the office of Additional Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai- Mr. R. A Rajeev (in-charge of Solid Waste Management). My tasks included on-going coordination and mentoring of the Security Agencies who had deployed the Clean Up Marshals in all 24 civic wards of Mumbai for penalizing the citizens found littering in public places. I was responsible for facilitating healthy dialogue and collaboration between, the Clean Up Marshal Agencies, ward level officials of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, NGOs and Citizens' Groups in the city of Mumbai for ensuring successful implementation of the campaign.
