I head the Community Impact department, wherein we conceptualize, develop and implement high impact community projects on the theme of public safety (United for Road Safety, Integrated Watershed Management, disaster management & response), environment (Mission Mangroves, Clean Shores, waste management) and social inclusion (Mumbai 360). Over my 14 years stint at UWM, I have been pivotal in developing several successful, large-scale community impact initiatives and have developed strong collaborations with key governmental agencies for successful public-private partnerships. I have been pivotal in implementing the pilot project of the ViA- Global Road Safety Education project with support from GRSP in India and we have been successfully implementing and managing the ViA project across 6 cities of India across 100 schools. I have also been managing large-scale grants especially in the field of watershed management and disaster response interventions across India.While spearheading Community Impact initiatives at United Way of Mumbai, my role is to manage the team of professionals for successful implementation of the projects, liaise with key stakeholders (government, civil society groups & corporates). Project designing & development, effective project execution, resource mobilization, impact assessment and documentation, and ensure strategic positioning of the organization among the key city stakeholders have been some of my key performance areas. Besides this, I have also been an active member of the core leadership team at United Way Mumbai whereby I have contributed actively to visioning, strategy making, and overall organizational development.

As Program Manager, I coordinated projects in the field of environment, health, civic issues and disaster preparedness. One of the major projects undertaken by me: Since November 2007, United Way Mumbai Helpline was appointed by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) as the official Third Party Auditor of their Clean-Up Mumbai campaign. Under this partnership, I worked directly from the office of Additional Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai- Mr. R. A Rajeev (in-charge of Solid Waste Management). My tasks included on-going coordination and mentoring of the Security Agencies who had deployed the Clean Up Marshals in all 24 civic wards of Mumbai for penalizing the citizens found littering in public places. I was responsible for facilitating healthy dialogue and collaboration between, the Clean Up Marshal Agencies, ward level officials of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, NGOs and Citizens' Groups in the city of Mumbai for ensuring successful implementation of the campaign.

As a guest faculty, I developed and conducted the complete course on Emergency Response Management for the Part Time MBA students. I developed the complete course curriculum, conducted sessions and mobilize other expert faculties from the industry- especially to talk on Business Continuity Management.

Spearheaded the process of setting up the United Way Disaster Response Fund- India and have lead and fully managed the disaster response initiatives of United Way India during disasters including; Uttarakhand Flash Floods (2013), Jammu & Kashmir Floods (2014), Assam Floods (2014), Cyclone Hudhud (2014), Himalayan Earthquake (2015), etc. Key tasks managed by me involved; coordinate situation analysis through field visits, consultations with government, NGOs, etc., identification of credible NGO partners for on-ground response, design the strategy for immediate relief interventions, mid-term relief interventions and long-term rehabilitation interventions and projects in consultation with the concerned government authorities, NGO partners, community members and the donors. Periodical monitoring and impact assessment through periodical field visits and liasoning with the NGO partners. Also managed the resource mobilization efforts of UWI including; development of situational update reports, preliminary appeals for support and development of detailed proposals for interested donors and compilation and submission of periodical status reports.

- Worked as a consultant to prepare a report by National Social Watch Report on the assessment of Extent of Decentralization in terms of Funds, Functions and Functionaries.- Study and Analysis of the minutes of the meetings of the General Body of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) for the period January 2005 to March 2006.- Drawing broad indicators for the study and for preparing the report.

Worked as Senior Coordinator on the projects Mothers' Center and project Quality in Education and Project- Green Dream. Tasks undertaken are; - Preparation of the Project Guidebook for Mothers' Center. - Conceptualization and helped in coordinating the Project Mothers' Center. - Exploring on the possibilities and areas of need for intervention in the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan to facilitate for Public- Private partnership.- Developing concept notes for defining the scope for Times Foundation to intervene in the programme.- Project formulation, Conceptualization and praparing the project proposal for Project- Green Dream.- Nagotiating and collaborating with the MCGM officials and other partners to coordinate and ensure effective implementation of the project.- Preparing project reports and project plans.

Conceptualized and carried out a field study for customer satisfaction among the farmers availing micro-finance from BASIX. Based on the responsed compiled from the respondents, I submitted recomendaitonf or a new comprehensive product that will cater to the real needs and challenges faced by the farmers in Marathwada.

Was part of an assignment on study of Slum Sanitation Project (SSP) in Mumbai funded by World Bank. - Was involved in head count to understand daily turnover of users to analyse the load on toilet blocks. - Was responsible for execution of head counts process and record qualitative observations.

Worked as a Program Officer on the Leprosy Elimination Action Program (LEAP) of ALERT India. My role was to develop a new strategy for NGO interventions following the integration of all leprosy services into government's public health department. - Facilitate partnership programme for Leprosy Elimination Action Programme (LEAP) with Municipal Corporations like KDMC, TMC, Navi Mumbai and Mumbai.- Facilitate and co-ordinate all LEAP related activities under the projects of ALERT- INDIA.- Capacity building of the personnel, preparing Reports, proposals, and evaluate the programmes.

- Develop Project Proposals for the projects on HIV/ AIDS, Women Empowerment, Adolescent Girls, Rural Development etc.- Study various schemes related to rural development by the Government of India, find the schemes relevant to the objectives of the organization and the needs of the population, and to proceed with the selected schemes by approaching concerned authorities, developing project proposals and initiate dialogues with various funding organizations.

- On completion of the B.S.W., I was selected to participate in the Linnaeus – Palme Exchange programme between the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan and the Department of Social Work, Stockholm University, Sweden.- Worked for 5 months with ‘Svalnas School’ a special school- cum- Psycho-Therapy Centre.

- The work involved paying study visits to the government and private child care institutions in Dhule, Jalgaon & Buldhana districts to assess the need for initiating an educational programme by Pratham in those homes. - Also interviewed the child laborers in Mumbai and prepared their life stories as part of a Qualitative Research undertaken by Pratham.

The work involved was to facilitate and regulate the balwadis in the Anjar taluka for universalisation of the primary education during the post earthquake period.
